As far as I’m concerned, you have two choices, you can either follow your dreams and live up to what you know, you are capable of, or you can shrink yourself, give up, quit. You can take that nine to five or stay in that relationship that makes you unhappy… But what’s the point of life if you’re not pushing yourself, if you’re not living up to your potential?
I want to talk about the fear of failure a little bit today. I think that once we reach a certain goal or hit a certain number in our business, or do the thing that we have been working up towards, there can be a lot of fear surrounding being able to keep up with that, or to out-do that. And that fear sometimes can be crippling, but I want to reframe that fear. I want to take that fear and that anxiety and the stress of trying to outdo yourself and turn it into motivation to just do your best.
It’s so easy to get sidetracked and distracted by things happening in your life or the things happening out in the world. You know, the world is a crazy place to be right now. But if you keep your mindset right, if you stay positive, if you keep the bigger picture in mind, if you stay focused on your goals, and you just stay in that high vibration. Everything will turn out in your favor in the end. Truthfully it might look a little bit different than you originally thought. But the things that you desire, the things that you dreamed of, they are coming, just hang tight.
I believe that achieving your goals is just as much mindset as it is hard fucking work. It’s 50/50. You’ve got to be in the right headspace to achieve great things, but you also have to do the damn things. Even the hard things, even the things you desperately don’t want to do- like making the cold calls or going door knocking or talking to people. Get yourself in a position where you’re doing the hard things again, and success and happiness, and all of the things that you desire will come.
It’s also so, so important to put yourself in positions where you are surrounded by people who push you to be better. And I think now more than any time ever, it’s been more apparent that when you surround yourself with people who are doing the things that you want to do, you will get to do those things a little bit faster, because they’re motivating you and they’re pushing you. So I’ve personally made it a goal of mine to get into my office more and surround myself with people and just, in general talk to people more. I’ve set up coffee dates and I talked about this in last week’s episode but it’s just so important to surround yourself with people who motivate and inspire you to do better.
